About
Mike Hiscott is an Illustrator with a keen interest in the production of concept art. Originally from Nova Scotia, Mike has spent the last 5 or so years attending the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in an effort to earn his B.A.A. in Illustration, and will soon be finally reaching that goal.
His work can be split into two separate categories. His illustrations tend to emphasize crisp lines, bright, flat colors, and texture. His concept art incorporates deeper colors, a more atmospheric, painterly style, and of course, matte painting. However, at their core, both of these styles make one thing plainly obvious. His interest is with characters and character design. Also, both styles are primarily digital, but he has been known to tackle projects or personal work in traditional media as well.
Now that his time in school is coming to a close, he is moving on to his next goal. Employment. Be it as a freelance illustrator or a concept artist. However, he's particularly looking forward to finding his place in the concept art industry, as that has been the dream that spurred him to take Illustration on many years ago.
